Any number is said to be divisible by 6 if that number is divisible by 2 as well as 3 (remember, 6 can be written as 2 x 3). If the number is not divisible by either of 2 or 3, then the number is not divisible by 6.

For example: Is 34548 divisible by 6?
Step 1: Last digit of 34548 is 8, which is even.
So, 34568 is divisible by 2.
Step 2: Sum of digits of 34548 is (3+4+5+4+8=) 24.
As 24 is divisible by 3, so number 34548 is divisible by 3.
As number 34548 is divisible by 2 and 3, both, so this number is divisible by 6.
