Divisibility by 15

Any number is said to be divisible by 15 if that number is divisible by 3 as well as 5 (remember, 15 can be written as 3 x 5). If the number is not divisible by either of 3 or 5, then the number is not divisible by 15.

For example: Is 34545 divisible by 15?

Step 1: Sum of digits of 34545 is (3+4+5+4+5=) 21.

As 21 is divisible by 3, so number 34545 is divisible by 3.

Step 2: As last digit of 34545 is 5, so 34545 is divisible by 5.

As 34545 is divisible by 3 and 5, both, so this number is divisible by 15.
