Any number is said to be divisible by 12 if that number is divisible by 3 as well as 4 (remember, 12 can be written as 3 x 4). If the number is not divisible by either of 3 or 4, then the number is not divisible by 12.

For example: Is 34548 divisible by 12?
Step 1: Sum of digits of 34548 is (3+4+5+4+8=) 24.
As 24 is divisible by 3, so number 34548 is divisible by 3.
Step 2: Last 2 digits of 34548 is 48.
As 48 is divisible by 4, i.e. 48 ÷ 4 = 12, so number 34548 is divisible by 4.
As number 34548 is divisible by 3 and 4, both, so this number is divisible by 12.
