Splitting: Multiplication

The “Splitting” method is particularly useful in multiplication of large numbers which is quite tough if done traditionally.

Let us understand this with an example:

2 6 3 x 2 =

splitting 6

There can be situations when splitting may require more “parts”.

For example:

1 3 1 4 1 5 x 3 :

splitting 11

This method can be used for multiplications of large numbers of varying lengths. Try for below:

5115 x 4                                                      3226 x 3

44444 x 2                                                   1616 x 6

71121 x 8
